Unveiling an Unusual Steam Game Trial: Controlling a Poop with the Goal to Find the Toilet

Steam Next Fest is now live, and players have found numerous interesting creations from small studios. However, one catches the eye for its offbeat concept. Named Unko Technica, this old-school styled jumping adventure lets you play a hero that is truly a turd striving to make its way to a commode. In case you're wondering, "Unko" is Japanese for "poop."

Player controls is straightforward: just use a jump control. Across one hundred fifty challenges, you'll face mini-bosses and access a shop to purchase customizations for your fecal avatar.

Execute your movements carefully, since one wrong move requires starting over. Bounce off floating orbs to hurl your character to new heights, cross disappearing platforms, and touch switches to reveal secret routes. Gather UN-KOINS to purchase tougher stages where the action intensifies.

Visually, the experience boasts vibrant level designs and an amazing background music. The retro art with moving abstract forms may remind gamers of classic titles like Earthbound.

Although tough to name other games where you control a dung character, interactive entertainment frequently included fecal matter. As an illustration, in Death Stranding, you can make explosives from character waste. Examples include Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved utilize feces as soil enrichment. And of course, such content shows up extensively in the role-playing game The Stick of Truth.

Despite its silly idea, Unko Technica has already received significant accolades, like winning at Bandai Namco's GYAAR Studio in 2023. This trial version is available at present on Steam, with the final release scheduled to debut on PC on November 19.
