The Initial Xbox Game Pass Additions of 2026 Demonstrate Xbox Remains Committed.
Across the gaming landscape, fans keep sounding the knell for the green team. Microsoft's console just got outsold by a relatively obscure console. Platform-specific outlets have started writing on PS5 topics as a new development. Last year proved to be an era of significant turmoil for the Xbox ecosystem. However, judging purely by what's coming to Game Pass in 2026, it is apparent that Xbox still intends to draw people in with quality releases on its premier subscription.
The Immediate Additions
The duo of games you can play right now today, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, are not the headliners. Rather, it's what is coming to Game Pass over the next few weeks that's deserving of attention.
Major Titles on the Horizon
Come mid-January, Game Pass will add the underappreciated Star Wars Outlaws, a vast exploration title that breaks up the standard Ubisoft formula with an intergalactic heist adventure. Another big get is Resident Evil Village and its giant Lady Dimitrescu, previously described as "an ideal blend of terror and combat."
Noteworthy Smaller Games
However, the more modest titles set to join the catalog deserve recognition. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, the criminally overlooked roguelike that's a blast to play, arrives January 7th — and you should try it even if you missed out on the first Lost in Random game.
The game set in a ruined Britain from last year could captivate you remarkably quickly.
Atomfall, a game blending infiltration and resource management by the makers of Sniper Elite, is another one to watch. Those with the top-tier subscription also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to get excited about.
A Solid, Curated Lineup
All in all, these aren't the most groundbreaking additions to Game Pass, and they are also not first-party juggernauts that are the sole reason for the service alone. However, this batch of games are rock solid. The lineup provides a solid mix of past releases that passed you by and relatively recent releases that failed to receive the spotlight they deserved the first time around — transforming them into excellent choices to experience a revival on Game Pass.
You might need to brace yourself to part ways with The Grinch Christmas Adventures, though.
